Background
Ng Jing Han is currently a Diploma In Music Performance Violin Major Year 3 Student at NAFA(Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts). She had picked up the violin at the age of 6 and began her studies at Asia Music School, under the tutelage of Skaidrite Rakovska. She then obtained a Merit in Grade 8 ABRSM Violin Performance Exam and proceeded onto ABRSM Diploma violin studies, meanwhile also participated in Asia Music School’s annual concerts at the Singapore Polytechnic(2013) and Singapore Conference Hall(2014), performing duets and group performances. Throughout her Violin musical journey, she has also studied Music Theory with her theory teacher Ng Sze Ling and obtained a Distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory in 2024.

NAFA EXPERIENCES
Being influenced by both her teacher’s passion for music, Jing Han decided to pursue music as her major for further studies at university level. She then enrolled at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2022, into the Violin diploma performance course, studying her violin principle studies under SSO(Singapore Symphony Orchestra) musician Nikolai Koval. Throughout her studies in NAFA, she got to play and perform often in chamber and ensemble groups such as the NAFA Orchestra, NAFA string ensemble, and had performances at Lee Foundation Theatre, Victoria Concert Hall, and the National Library. She also performed at both performance classes and NAFA library potpourri performances in a chamber setting, with two violins and one piano, playing as first violin. Also, she was given opportunities to play and participate in masterclasses and performance classes, learning from outstanding musicians such as Chan Yoong Han, Tan Wee Hsin, Foo Say Ming. She also actively participated in other events such as the NAFA annual concerto competition.
EXTERNAL COMMITMENTS
Besides her studies in NAFA, she was also invited by her previous teacher, Skaidrite Rakovska to participate in the World Strings Day performance at Gardens by the Bay in celebration of the Singapore National Day. Other than performing experiences, she also gave violin lessons and gained relevant experience for teaching beginner violin students from different ages, both from private music schools, and also home music tutoring.
